The Janine Bohill Memorial Award 2025

20th Jun 2025
🏆 The presentation of the Janine Bohill Memorial Award was not only to celebrate a remarkable 6th Class pupil, but also to honour the memory of someone who made a lasting impact on our school community.

Janine was so much more than a Special Needs Assistant in our school — she was a friend, a guide, a quiet champion for those who needed support, and a person whose compassion and kindness touched countless lives. Her sincerity, caring nature and natural humour left a legacy we will never forget.

In honour of her memory, we created the Janine Bohill Memorial Award, which recognises a pupil who demonstrates many of the same qualities she embodied: kindness, empathy, and a positivity that brightens each day.

Ms Fitzsimons was delighted to present the award to Dylan Byrne-Smith. Dylan has shown great heart and spirit across his eight years here in RBS. He has brought an abundance of joy, love and laughter into our lives and reminded us of the best in all of us - just as Janine always did.

Congratulations, and thank you for continuing this legacy of care, joy and kindness Dylan. You’ve made your school, and Janine's memory, very proud! 💫
