Congratulations to our 5th and 6th Class pupils who competed in the Corn Iomána Cumann na mBunscoil Hurling Final this evening at Naomh Moninne's pitch in Toberona. It was the first time in many years that Redeemer Boys' School have competed at this stage of the competition. The resurgance of hurling in the school has been great to see as there is a wonderful history of the sport in our school.
The boys battled well against a strong St Peter's, Dromiskin side. Unfortunately, despite great defending and the creation of many good opportunities, they just couldn't get over the line losing by a small margin, 1 - 2 to 1 point.
We are all so proud of the boys and all the hard work they have put into their hurling this year. We hope to see the boys carry on hurling, representing their local club Naomh Moninne and their county.
We thank our Hurling Coach and 6th Class teacher, Mark Gahan, for his dedication and commitment with the boys, forging skills and making memories that will stay with the boys forever.
